Cultivating Community is seeking an Assistant Farm Manager to work with our New American Sustainable Agriculture Project farmer training program on the incubator farm in Lisbon ME. This is a seasonal position running from April 1, 2013-October 25, 2013. We currently expect the position to be 30 hours/week April-July and 40 hours/week August – October. The AFM will focus on all aspects of whole farm maintenance and care. This position will be at the intersection of the Farm Manager, other NASAP staff and farmers in the training program. Persons best fit for this job are those who have an interest in learning the ins and outs of how to manage a training farm while finding joy in the everyday challenges of farming and working with many different people. Fresh Start Farms Marketing Intern
The Fresh Start Farms Marketing Intern will work to develop new market opportunities for the Fresh Start Farms collaborative. The intern will work with staff and refugee and immigrant farmers to recruit new customers, establish contacts, and communicate and promote the Fresh Start Farms program. Responsibilities pertain to Community Supported Agriculture, Wholesale, and Senior Farm Share programs. This position in unpaid. Summer Youth Program Assistant
Assistant for Youth Growers and Grow Interns, our two summer programs for teens who participate in growing, harvesting, delivering and cooking fruits and vegetables. Youth learn about and address issues of food justice in their community through garden work, cooking healthy meals, volunteering with emergency food programs, delivering produce to seniors and visiting local farms. Intern will assist with all aspects of this program and have the opportunity to share their personal experience and expertise. Internship begins in late May and ideally continues through late August, Monday- Friday 8 AM-4 PM.
